Catholic Daughters of the Americas
Our Lady of Good Counsel
Court George Washington University No. 2577
Founded on a national level in 1903, the mission of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is “to strive to embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all.” Designed as an organization for Catholic women to come together to support one another as well as to meet the needs of our Church community, membership in CDA offers spiritual growth through prayer, service, and fellowship.
For the coming year, our court at GW is planning various events and community service projects. These include Daughter Dinners, Shrine and Dines (visits to various D.C. churches and brunch together afterwards), movie nights, sponsoring a child, and service at local homeless shelters or crisis pregnancy centers. We will also be holding bimonthly meetings, which will consist of event planning as well as spiritual reflections and discussions.
All Catholic women and women considering the faith are welcome at any of our events or meetings. We would love to meet you!
