Catholic Daughters of the AmericasCourt George Washington University No. 2577Ali Knapp The Catholic Daughters of the Americas was founded on a national level in 1903 as an organization designed for Catholic women to come together in Unity and Charity to support one another, as well as to meet the needs of our Church community. CDA membership fosters spiritual growth through prayer, service, and fellowship. With these goals in mind, our mission is: "Catholic Daughters of the Americas strives to embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all." Our court at GW was started two years ago and has quickly grown to almost 50 members. Since then we've been having a lot of fun praying rosaries and attending mass together, performing service around Foggy Bottom, and growing in fellowship with movie nights and our monthly Daughter Dinners. Just some examples of our past activities include going on pilgrimages to different churches around D.C., sewing quilts for sick children at the Ronald McDonald House, having spiritual reflection and discussion, and challenging our brother Knights at Ultimate Frisbee. We hold meetings every Monday evening at 6:30 at the Newman Center. All Catholic women and women considering the faith are welcome at any of our events or meetings. We would love to meet you!!
