Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40
The Newman Center takes the call for Christians to serve those less fortunate very seriously. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are continuously making efforts to give back to Washington, DC as well as the people of the city. Here at the Newman Center we look to help the hungry, elderly, sick, homeless, and less fortunate children.
Here are just a few exciting service opportunities that we have planned for the 2008-2009 school year:
- Halloween Party for the children of St. Anne's Infant and Maternity Home
- Fannie Mae Foundation’s Help the Homeless Walkathon
- Thanksgiving Baskets for Exodus Ministries
- Cookie Baking & Christmas Caroling for the people of St. Mary’s Court
- Alternative Spring Break Trip to Charleston, SC
We are also looking forward to making frequent visits to places like The Foggy Bottom Food Pantry and Martha’s Table.
