I always tell people that one of my only regreats in college was not attending the first timer's retreat because I was "too busy" and already had "more important committments. " I did not realize at the time that my relationship with my Newman Center friends and with God were more important than the other things I chose to do. The retreat provides a great opportunity to take a break and reevaluate the direction your new college life is heading. I have been on every spring retreat, and I know that each one has helped to build the relationships that I have with many of my closest GW friends. Most importantly, I realized how important it was to put God and my faith first in my college life.
