THOMISTIC INSTITUTE
Formally distinct from GW Catholics, but operating closely with the Newman Center, the Thomistic Institute (TI) was founded in 2009 as an organization dedicated to fostering intellectual conversation by hosting world-class guest lecturers at over a hundred universities across the USA and abroad.
Taking its appellation from St. Thomas Aquinas, the lectures seek to create dialogue between scholastic wisdom and contemporary questions.
Such recent conferences hosted at GW by the TI attest to this mission: Neuroscience and The Soul; Just War Theory, and What Does Political Freedom Mean? @gwthomists
